Domenico Antonio Mancini was born in Naples in 1980. He lives and works in Milan. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples and through participation in various residences including the Antonio Ratti Foundation (Como, 2004) and the Mountain School of Art (Los Angeles, 2006). Interested in the transformation of daily life and historical memory into a synaesthetic experience, Domenico Antonio Mancini combines sophisticated media analysis, chosen from time to time, to reflect on socio-political and bio-political issues. For the artist, the practice of art always responds to the urgent need to intervene, individually and collectively, in everyday life. Even in the most recent pictorial series related to the historical memory of specific sites, the landscape painting comes as an alienating experience not only on a linguistic level: Domenico Antonio keeps suggesting mediums to flip the relationship between things, intended as both aesthetic categories and pieces of information.
Domenico Antonio Mancini is represented by Lia Rumma Gallery.
