La periferia vi guarda con odio (The Suburb Looks at You with Hatred), created for the Landscapes exhibition held at the Lia Rumma Gallery in Naples in 2019, features a phrase the artist read on a wall in the historic center of Milan. It serves as a statement of the exhibition rather than a simple slogan. The neon illuminates the stunning collection of nineteenth-century paintings borrowed from the Museo Civico Filangieri in Naples. La periferia vi guarda con odio is the keystone of the exhibition, as it embodies the same process activated by the paintings on display, which aim to tell a story of the city and the ongoing problematic relationship between the center and the periphery.
